once upon a time...After his huge success with Mickey Mouse, Disney wanted to focus his attention and make a full animated film. Only short cartoons existed during this time, but Disney wanted to be able to give his characters more development with a more interesting storyline. Disney's creation of the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs became the first full feature-length animated film in 1937. The film depicts the story of Snow White based on the German fairy tale by Brothers Grim. The movie shows the talent of the animators and their drive to achieve perfection in their drawings. The film was a success, and thanks to this wonderful accomplishment, Disney was able to continue to create additional animated films that are still loved today.

Did you know?
Walt Disney felt that Snow White's cheeks needed more color. One of the girls working at the studio suggested using blush from her makeup kit, and applied it to the drawing. Disney asked how they would be able to replicate the makeup for each drawing. The girl responded, "What do you think we've been doing all of our lives?"
